Halloween (short and sweet)

so we had a nice Halloween. went and did a few things then came home. Lilli had a very short nap then we got her up and into her costume. we went out and handed out candy and she ran around the yard in her costume for a while. then i had Steve take her inside and give her supper while i finished handing out the candy. She was supuer cute!! hope everyone's halloween was really great!!!

Current events

so i have a few comments on current events. First, i feel for Jennifer Hudson and her family. They lost three family members in a horrific murder. I cannot begin to imagine how they must be feeling. i cannot begin to imagine the depth of grief that Julia Hudson especially is feeling at the death of her child, possibly at the hands of her own husband. I can't imagine how guilty she must feel for bringing this man into her family, even though she could never have predicted this. I am not saying it's her fault, but if it were me i would be wracked with guilt. My prayers go out to the Hudson Family.
I'm hearing from a lot of people as well as on the news that Barack Obama will be our next president...polls show anyway. I pray that's true. It's no secret how i feel about John McCain and Sarah Palin. Especially, Sarah Palin. I've been told this is sexist, but i honestly cannot fathom how a woman could vote for the McCain/Palin ticket! If they are elected, they will appoint 2 more justices to the supreme court making it almost an entirely republican supreme court. i feel that is so dangerous. I dont claim a party. I voted Democrat this time, but the last two times i vted republican. so this is not a party biased rant. i'm terrified what will happen if Roe vs. Wade is overturned. Abortion is not an option for myself but i refuse to agree that women shouldn't be given that option. now regulation on abortion yes, but to abolish it...NO!!!! There are many cases when it's necessary i.e. rape or incest cases. some women simply don't want the child and dump them. Can you IMAGINE if people were forced to have babies they didn't want? orphanages would be over run, social services would be even more swamped than they already are and these children would never find homes!! I know many people do not agree with me, but that is the view of many other people. We want to go forwards, not backwards!!! And off issues, hat the HELL is up with spening $150,000 on Sarah Palin's WARDROBE!!!!! OUr economy is in awful shape (anyone been watching the stockmarkets???) and the republicans feel the need to spend that kind of money on CLOTHES!!!!!!!!! WHAT???? if I had $150,000 i'd pay off my car and all the credit cards and put money down on a house and invest it...i mean COME on!!!! ARGH!!!! Oh and Nancy Pelosi is an idiot. ok...Rant over.
We're doing well. Just getting ready for halloween. Lilli is going to be a faerie. she's precious!! We carved our jackolantern saturday. that was fun...well for Lilli and i. steve did most of the work and he was irritated. but it looks great. we got a strobe light to put in it and i similates a candle. it's a pirate skull and crossbones. Steve rocks!! i'll post pics when i download them!! hope everyone is doing well!!

Greetings from Washington

So as I'm sure I mentioned before we are now in Silverdale, Wa. We're working on getting unpacked, which I hate!! I hate to move!!! We got back to Wa from Ga at about 4:30 am on thursday morning. What a hellacious trip!!!! We flew out of Charlotte into Houston and from there to Seattle. Our flight was SUPPOSED to depart from Charlotte at 4:23 pm. it wsa almost 5:00 before we left our gate then we got stuck on the runway for 3 HOURS because of storms in Houston. It was past Lilli's dinner time and we asked if there was anything we could feed her and they brought us a snack pack full of nothing she could eat. We gave her salami and raisins. What a dinner. So we were finally on our way. we landed in Houston at 9 pm only to discover that our connecting flight was delayed until 11:45 pm. yay. After we landed around 3 am, we had to get our luggage, get our Durango out of long term parking and drive an hour and a half home. I barely kept my eyes open on the ride. It's a good thing Steve wasn't too tired because it could have been dangerous. We got home and I took Lilli straight into bed. She started fussing which isn't unusual so I went in and collapsed on my bed. She didn't quiet down and only got hysterical. Steve said he'd get her and go on to sleep so I tried. Suddenly he started hollering for me to come into the den. I got up and Lilli was still screaming. Apparently she'd had a little stomach trouble. Steve cleaned it up and I got her calmed down about half an hour later. I put her to bed and barely made it to my own. By then it was about 5:30 am. I only slept for a few hours since Lilli was up by 8:30. We had a lot to do Thursday. We had no food in the house at all so we went grocery shopping and bought my new microwave. They had one built in in San Diego so we didn't own one. I use them a lot so i really needed it. NOw we're back and Steve goes back to work on Monday. THANK GOD!!!! i love him but he's been making me nuts!!! 2 months is WAY too long for him to be home all day every day. LOL. Anyway. Again it was nic seeing everyone again and just pray that we are stationed in King's Bay, GA this time next year so we can go next year too!! Much love!!!!

quick update

hey everyone! i had a great time at the reunion! it was so nice to see everyone again. lilli and steve had a good time as well. great food and great people, what more could you ask for???!! if ya'll wouldn'y mind, we totally forgot about our camera and we'd love pics! shoot me an email if you have some!
kvickers0522@yahoo.com after wards we went home wherre Lilli napped and i tried to. i came down with a sudden cold/flu thing that has plagued me since saturday nioght. fun fun. we leave tomorrow around 4 flying out of charlotte, nc and back to seattle by way of houston. not looking forwrd to the flight but definitely missing my own bed! hope everyone is well and again it was great to see ya'll!!!

he's home!!!!!

Steve has been home for about three weeks now!! it's been so wonderful having him home. words just can't express how much i missed him!!!!!! homecoming was nice. i saw him on the pier and went running (if you could call what i was doing running) to him. we all hugged and kissed and i handed Lilli to him. It was then that all hell broke loose! she screamed like he was beating her bloody. in fact she's only JUST starting to let him hold her without throwing a tantrum. It's hurting Steve's feelings a lot and i feel so bad for him. she's pretty much used to him now.

We're getting ready to move soon. our prospective moving date is September
18th. We'll be heading from San Diego to Bangor, Washington, which is about 30-45 minutes from Seattle. i'm really disappointed because i wanted to go back east, but hopefully we'll only be in WA for a year.

So we do have some good news!! We'll be coming down to Augusta for 2 weeks and we'll be at the reunion!!! it'll be really nice to see everyone and meet people we haven't yet met (lilli and i). i'm really excited!!! I hope to see as many of you as possible there!!!

so steve will be home in a few more weeks. i'm so ready. this has been the longest 6 months of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!! i miss him so much!! Lilli is walking like crazy. and getting into EVERYTHING!!!! she's getting so big. my baby is growing up!! she needs to stop!!!! so steve and i are going to start trying to have nother baby when he gets back. it will put two years between the kids which is how we wanted it. and our little family will be complete. i'm so excited!!!

Update

So i keep forgetting i have this blog!! LOL. we're doing well. We got back to San Diego a week ago. Steve is still gone but we've been able to speak over the phone a lot recently. i miss him so much. only a couple more months. i am ready. as soon as he gets backwe'll be packing up and getting ready to move to Bangor, Washington. i'm really NOT looking forward to it. on the plus side we don't have to pack or move. just organize and clean. i'm working on it now even though we aren't moving until October. fun fun. I just celebrated my 28th birthday on the 22nd. i still feel 21 so i guess that's good. just more mature i suppose. it's really nice to be back home. Lilli has had the WORST stomach flu. she seems to be over it though. i hope!!!! so now we can go for walks and to the pool and beach. it's nice. anyway i promise i'll try to keep up with this better!!!

New York, New York!!!!

So today, Lilli and i are leaving to go on her first airplane ride to upstate NEw York. She's going to meet her Aunt Meagan, Uncle Ken, and cousin Connor for the first time! i'm very excited about it! we have one more month until we go home to san diego. i'm REALLY excited abou that. i love my mom and Sharon and Augusta, but i miss my home and my bed and my things. i want to get Lilli into a good schedule and get a workout schedule going. i'm not doing well on my weight loss at all. part of it is that i don't cook. i eat what my mom and sharon cook and it's not all that healthy mostly. so smart ones, fruits and veggies will be what i eat for the most part. Steve has already lost a lot of weight already and i'm gaining it. Men suck. i really miss him. i'm ready for this stinking deployment to be over!!!!!!!!

I'm baaaack!!!!

i can't believe it but i completely forgot that i even had this blog! things have been so crazy. Steve left at the end of january for West Pas. We're here at Sharon's house on and off for the next month. Lilli is getting so big!! Steve is not going to believe it when he sees her. She has two teeth and is crawling and pulling herself up. She can sit up by herself too. she's such a bubbly little person and i love her so much. She's my reason for being. oh and her Daddy too! ;) I'm busy planning a Christening for May 3rd. i'm very excited about it. It'll be at Sharon's so hopefully there's room for everyone. i may have to change location at last minute! and hopefully the weather holds out! a lot of it will be held outside! On a sadder note, a close friend of mine was killed in a car accident this past weekend. it's so tragic. Her Dad and i are close friends, though he's old enough to be MY dad. She was at my wedding, caught the bouquet and her then fiance caught the garter. He's a submariner as well and didn't find out until tuesday that his wife was dead. She's the first friend of mine to pass away and i'm just heartsick over it. She was only 21 years old and so full of life and dreams. i kept telling her that i would bring Lilli to see her and hadn't gotten the chance yet and now i never will. The viewing is tomorrow and the funeral is saturday. i hope there is someone there for me to lean on because i don't do well at funerals. i just wish i could tell steve about it. i wish he was here to comfort me because i need him. i just have to remember he's doing something great and he's needed by his country. it's just so hard. i was doing really good until this. even when my brand new car was hit by a hit and run driver in a parking lot, i dealt with it and was fine. anyway Lilli is good, i'm good, and I heard from steve a couple weeks ago and he's good too!

new year

i hope everyone's holidays were wonderful! ours were very nice. Lilli had fun opening her gifts...for about 30 minutes before she got bored. she was so cute. she was more interested in putting her gifts in her mouth than opening them. After gifts we ate and went to the beach to watch the sunset. it was gorgeous! the day was way too short. new years was uneventful. steve had duty so i just went to bed early. Now we're preparing for his 6 month deployment. i'm not looking forward to it. i am looking forward to going home however. just sucks that steve has to be gone so long for me to be able to. oh well. hope to see some of you while i'm back east!!
